UMAMIcatessen In Downtown LA Soft-Opens Saturday, March 3

Meat-loving Angelenos finally have a one-stop shop for all their carnal desires.

Adam Fleischman's new UMAMIcatessen, located at the Orpheum building in Downtown LA, is slated to soft-open on Saturday at 11 a.m. His carnivorous food court is a collection of four different eateries, a bar and a coffee shop around a 170-seat dining hall.

To help plan your weekend gorge-fest, here's a rundown of all your options at UMAMIcatessen. Choose wisely, kids -- you (unfortunately) only have one stomach.

1. Umami Burger: We've all eaten at one of the many Umami Burger locations throughout Southern California, so what makes this one any different?

Luckily, they're not messing with what already works, which means that all the meat will continue to be ground in-house and the fixings are still locally sourced. However, the expanded restaurant space means that this outpost will always be serving the "speciality" burgers that are featured for a limited time at the other locations, including a Shrimp Burger that will be exclusive to this Downtown location.

2. PIGG: Those who have already eaten at Chris Consentino's Incanto restaurant in San Francisco (Leg of Beast!) know that Los Angeles is definitely in for a treat at PIGG.

Consentino's first Los Angeles venture will feature pork in all its glory, from ham to terrine to salumi to raw sashimi-style slices. Will PIGG's two-story ham tower become LA's next great landmark?

3. The Cure: Providing a counterpoint to PIGG, this kosher-style (not actually kosher!) deli will be serving up lox, chicken liver and other deli meat classics. Micah Wezler of Mezze has a hand in the matzo ball soup, knishes and bagels. Get it all to go in a sandwich and have a soup on the side. L'chaim!

4. Spring for Coffee: house-ground coffee, made-to-order drinks and even coffee cocktails will be available at Spring for Coffee.

5. & a Donut: Just because you're on to dessert, that doesn't mean you have to stop eating meat. Have a foie gras mousse and a cream cheese cake donut at & a Donut. For "lighter" fare, try a soft serve or sorbet instead.

6. The Back Bar: Adding booze officially makes this the best cafeteria ever. Bottles of beer and wine, cocktails, and beers on tap are available at The Back Bar. Mixologist Adrian Biggs of La Descarga designed the cocktail menu, so we're assuming everything on the list will be devilishly delicious. We're also assuming there will be someone to help you choose the best red to go with your Umami Hatch Burger.

Stay tuned for photos of the space!
